The Bar at Red Mesa Grill
We feature the largest and finest selection of tequila in the North. Our Margaritas are Michigan’s best; made from scratch with our own freshly squeezed sour mix. We offer many fun variations on this popular libation. We also put our creativity to work on an assortment of mojitos and other speciality beverages. Local micro brews are featured on tap; wines are available by the glass or bottle.
Fun & Lively Atmosphere
The Red Mesa Grills feature eclectic decor that is colorful, festive and unique. Many a photo is snapped with the custom murals and soft sculptures of Cactus Kate as the background! A tour of the labels in our hot sauce collection is sure to leave you grinning, maybe even blushing. Add an international mix of salsa, samba, nuevo latino, blues and funk and you have an upbeat, casual backdrop for your meal. The Traverse City location boasts an indoor fireplace.

Both locations feature seasonal outdoor dining; the Traverse City location also offers an outdoor fireplace for a warm ambiance on cool evenings.

The Parsons family has been quietly farming and making maple syrup on the shores of Harwood Lake, a few miles south of downtown Charlevoix, since 1898. After five generations, we are very proud to announce the opening of the Harwood Gold Cafe. We opened August 2016, and we want to thank you – our friends, family and customers – for your incredible support of our local, family and women-owned business.
Our cafe is half cafe, half store. Representing our dedication to supporting local farmers and businesses, the cafe features a farm-fresh, seasonal menu, as well as espresso drinks, fresh juices and smoothies, plus our hand pies both hot and frozen. Our menu includes several vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The store side features all of the Harwood Gold products, with a tasting bar so you can try before you buy. You can also create unique gift boxes in the store and we can ship them out for you.

It’s a night of pairing your favorite things! Get a couple pairs of tickets for you and your favorite pair of friends because we are going to pair delicious fall foods from the Beach House Restaurant with all of your favorite fall brews from Short’s Brewing Company. A Short’s Beer Liberator will be on-site to guide you through the five-course dinner, explaining how each beer compliments the dish. Pair that with the ambiance of a beautiful restaurant that sits on the shores of Deer Lake, and it’s bound to be a fantastic evening!

And while 2020 has drastically reduced date night it was such a holiday treat to be together for some special time away before #2 shows up and the hustle of the next few weeks swoops us up. ⠀

Our marriage is far from perfect, but I'm really freaking proud of it. Because we work at it. I grew up with an incredible example of partnership and I firmly believe that is a big part in what makes me mildly obsessive about non stop communication / time just the two of us. ⠀

We've had some wild adventures together. Shared a hostel room in Switzerland with a group of 10 guys on a snowboarding trip, took an overnight train around Europe with strangers in our sleeper car, driven across the country multiple times in our tiny little Volkswagen (best car ever). ⠀

We've camped in the back country of Grand Teton NP, we've had a drink on Brad Paisley's on stage bar at a music festival, we've been dog sledding across the UP, but the greatest adventure of all is our normal, very regular, very boring at times life, on a tiny 10 acre farm raising up a bunch of blonde headed babes. ⠀
