The Little House is still available for the Walloon Village Lighting! Wednesday, Nov. 27th. Then make a weekend of it and stay through Thanksgiving! Santa Claus, Petoskey Steel Drum Band and many more activities are planned.

Thank you to my hubby for taking me back to Hotel Walloon for my birthday and making it extra special. We did the Sky Bridge at Boyne Mountain, ate a delicious lunch at Chandler’s in Petoskey, had dinners at Barrel Back and The Inn at Walloon. We did a sunset cruise on Walloon Lake on 10/3 and the weather was unbelievable. I’m not sure how I got to be 60, but I’m feeling very blessed for every birthday I get to celebrate. Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed! Live every day out loud and be your authentic self. Help others as much as you can and go on every adventure you can. Make your health a priority. Eat right and exercise and find your balance so you can enjoy life.

We snuck away for a night hotelwalloon this weekend. One of my favorite hotels in the world is literally a hop, skip & jump from the farm. ⠀

From day 1 of parenthood Matt & I have put an even higher priority on dating one another regularly, going away together, dinner out. And while 2020 has drastically reduced date night it was such a holiday treat to be together for some special time away before #2 shows up and the hustle of the next few weeks swoops us up. ⠀

I realized this weekend that the last time we went out just us two was August. ⠀
⠀
Our marriage is far from perfect, but I'm really freaking proud of it. Because we work at it. I grew up with an incredible example of partnership and I firmly believe that is a big part in what makes me mildly obsessive about non stop communication / time just the two of us. ⠀

We've had some wild adventures together. Shared a hostel room in Switzerland with a group of 10 guys on a snowboarding trip, took an overnight train around Europe with strangers in our sleeper car, driven across the country multiple times in our tiny little Volkswagen (best car ever). ⠀
⠀
We've camped in the back country of Grand Teton NP, we've had a drink on Brad Paisley's on stage bar at a music festival, we've been dog sledding across the UP, but the greatest adventure of all is our normal, very regular, very boring at times life, on a tiny 10 acre farm raising up a bunch of blonde headed babes. ⠀

I'm just grateful that our favorite fancy hotel is just a short drive down the road. 🙂 ⠀
