Charlevoix Apple Fest – October 12 – 14, 2018

Experience the magic of autumn in Northern Michigan at the 40th annual Charlevoix Apple Festival. Join the festivities and support our local farmers, orchards and non-profit organizations while celebrating the season in scenic downtown Charlevoix this October.

Fall is in the air and area orchards are busy harvesting bushels of fresh apples in preparation for Apple Fest. Apples are Michigan’s largest and most valuable fruit crop. More than 30 varieties of apples will be available!

Apple Fest is a great time to shop fresh and shop local. Visit the market for pumpkins, mums, squash, jam, maple syrup, pies, bagels, mustard, crepes, cider, honey, meats, eggs, soups, granola, and many baked goods. All locally produced!

Local non-profit organizations will be on site to satisfy your hunger with food items such as chili, hot dogs, kielbasa, apple flappen, soup, apple cake, and cocoa.

125 booths in East Park and Bridge Park bursting with unique one of a kind creations. The show offers work of artists and crafters from around the country and is the perfect venue to kick off the holiday shopping season.

Recently, the Charlevoix City EMS Department needed to upgrade and replace some of its CPR and AED training equipment. Four area businesses stepped up to make this happen. ACE Hardware, Bergmann Marine, Charlevoix State Bank and Manthei MDC Contracting. all helped fund the purchase of the new Equipment. EMS Director Don McMullen commented “this equipment isn’t just used to train emergency and healthcare professionals. The department also provides training to local groups and residents.” Mike Hinkle of Charlevoix State Bank agreed, commenting that “EMT Professional Jeff Stevens has done a great job working with Charlevoix Public Schools to ensure that all athletic coaches are CPR certified as required by MHSAA guidelines.” If you or your organization has a need for CPR or AED education please contact EMS Director Don McMullen at 231-547-3279.
